As A/Ms Walker and Heath took off this morning, piloted by Sgts. Kitchener and Carlton-Metcalf, I was concerned that the mist might prevent them from obtaining good photographs of the area east of the enemy supply dump. As the mist burned off leaving brilliant sun, I became concerned that they might not return at all. Unfortunately, that concern was justified. A German two-sater passed over the aerodrome at dusk, dropping a note stating that Heath and Carlton-Metcalf had been captured, and Walker and Kitchener had been killed.
